Unbelievable!

Do you believe Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad when he said, "In Iran we don't have homosexuals like in your country. In Iran we do not have this phenomenon, I don't know who has told you that we have it."

If he is right then Iran must be the only country in the world where there are no homosexuals! All homo-phobics should move to Iran where there are no homosexuals to bother their sensibilities!

How about what he said about the treatment of women in Iran? "Women in Iran enjoy the highest levels of freedom." All feminist organizations in the world should rejoice over this fact!

"If the Holocaust is a reality of our time, a history that occurred, why is there not sufficient research that can approach the topic from different perspectives?" he asked. No amount of proof or research will ever be sufficient for a well-known Holocaust denier and an anti-semite like Ahmadinejad.

  1. Of course he say that. If any one found to be gay...i am sure they will either ended up in prison or...

Who would dare come out of the 'closet'?

Regarding the holocaust....maybe he should build a time machine and go back and see for himself.

What did ur hubby say about his speech?

  2. I think that Columbia's president introductory speech threw Mahmoud Ahmadinejad off and put him in a very defensive stance from the beginning.

People tend to say stupider and more extreme things when they are defensive.

Of course, claiming that there are no homosexuals and denying the holocaust is just ridiculous.

  3. Nightwing, that was his answer to a question abt the treatment of homosexuals .. a few were among those sentenced to death recently.

I'm sure Ahmadinejad has seen the pictures of the piled up dead bodies and human bones after those poor people had been poisoned. He refused to believe there were that many people killed by the Nazis and I don't think anything would be able to change his mind, even if could travel in time and see for himself the atrocities done to the Jews and other "undesirable" people.

People shd realy pay attention to this guy when he says he wants to wipe Israel of the map. He is the leader of a country, and his words should not simply be cast aside as if a child had uttered them. His country has nuclear ambition, probably even have nuclear capability, and as such any threats uttered by him should be taken seriously.

  4. Salian, I'd like to think that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a stupid person, a pin-head, but a lot of what he is saying is also to the hard liners back in Iran. Since Iran is an Islamic republic, of course he wants to tell the world that their system of government is the best in the world and that everyone living there is happy and there are no such problems as homosexuality, denial of women's basic rights, or any kind of social evil.

Did you know that Iran's drug problem mirrors the west? So much for a utopia run by mullahs!

  5. Stupid or not, the guy seems to be intent on getting a lot of backing from non-US/British governments and might even be successful.

It did make me laugh out loud hearing him claim there were no homosexuals in Iran though. That was pretty much the most idiotic thing I had heard this month... perhaps even this year.

I can't decide if he is stupid, overly-proud, naive, or in serious denial.

  6. He could be all that - stupid, overly-proud, naive, and in denial!

The less we see or hear of him, the better!

  7. Agreed. I doubt that would be the case though :(
